Dr. Axmann studied Aerospace Engineering in Munich, Germany and Cranfield UK and got a PhD in aerospace engineering. He holds also a master in business administration. During his time at DLR, he prepared different satellite missions for operations and worked in different specific projects for the board. From 2017 onwards, he was the Founding Director of the Institute of Data Science in Jena and head of the department Strategy Space Research and Technology. Since summer 2020 he accompanied the development of the quantum computing initiative.
