For the fourth consecutive year, Marc Kekicheff – Senior Business Leader of Chip Innovation at Visa Inc. retains his position as Chairman. Uwe Wittig – Group Vice-President within the Mobile Security Business Unit at Giesecke & Devrient continues as GlobalPlatform Vice-Chairman; and Yves Moulart – Director of Development and Innovation within STMicroelectronics‘ Secure MCUs Division, Integrated Secure Solutions, is again confirmed as GlobalPlatform’s Secretary / Treasurer.

Additionally, Jon Geater, Chief Technology Officer at Trustonic was elected to serve a one-year term. Jon has also been appointed Chair of the newly established Security Task Force, which is working to define the association’s security philosophy and outline how it will become more active in the security landscape.
Clif Campbell Lead Member of Technical Staff of AT&T has been elected as the new Chair of GlobalPlatform’s Mobile Task Force, following the tenure of Jeppe Dorff, Head of Transaction Services at Rogers Communications. Germán Blanco, Business Leader at MasterCard will support Clif as Vice-Chair to oversee the group’s efforts to capture and define the business and technical requirements of the secure mobile services ecosystem, ensuring an agreed and workable application management infrastructure is established. This includes work to advance the secure element (SE), trusted execution environment (TEE) and mobile messaging framework.
Marc Kekicheff comments: “We have seen record membership growth in 2013. 26 new companies have joined from around the world and across multiple industries, to participate in our work to standardize the SE, TEE and mobile messaging frameworks, demonstrating the relevance of GlobalPlatform Specifications to today’s secure chip marketplace. A key focus for us is to ensure specifications and technical documents are adaptable to the needs of vertical markets and accessible to these audiences. The recent launch of a Premium Content Task Force is an example of this. The dedicated group is working closely with the premium content marketplace to ensure that its needs are met within GlobalPlatform’s TEE Specifications, enabling content issuers to host and protect mobile content in a secure environment.“
