Morpho is selected as the TSM partner for the Far EasTone NFC trial program

The trial integrates NFC technology into different aspects of mobile life. Users will be able to tap their NFC phones to pay for purchases, take public transportation and use loyalty programs. These transactions will be available at 25,000 PayPass point-of-sale terminals and 10,000 shops. The transactions will be done through Morpho’s Trusted Service Management (TSM) system. TSM is a key component in this new service model as it ensures the secure delivery of service credentials to the USIM, manages the various applications and enhances customer services.

Roger Chen, Vice President Internet & Commerce Division at Far EasTone Telecommunications said: “We partner with Morpho for its end-to-end expertise, its market-proven technologies and its business knowledge. Most important of all is their experience in enabling service providers from multiple and diverse industries to enrich our service offering on the TSM platform. This is most crucial for the adoption of our services as well as for the success of our vision to build the NFC ecosystem.”

Chua Thian Yee, Senior Vice President Convergence Services at Morpho, e-Documents Division said, “We are honored to be the partner of this trial program. Our unique experience in successfully enabling service providers from different industries with different workflows is directly applicable to this project. Far EasTone together with the Far Eastern Group companies immediately provide a complete consumer service ecosystem. This is not just another NFC pilot – it will set an example for other NFC projects globally.”
