With compliance programs addressing the UICC Configuration, Basic Financial Configuration and Trusted Execution Environment Specifications already in place, the association is currently working to offer a compliance program for its Secure Element (SE) Configuration for smart microSDs and embedded SEs. It is also advancing test tools for GlobalPlatform’s ID Configuration and SE Access Control Configuration.
As a Participating Member, TÜV SÜD Japan will also engage in GlobalPlatform’s market-specific task force initiatives and has chosen to contribute to all aspects of GlobalPlatform’s Card Committee; assisting in defining neutral specifications for the deployment and management of multiple applications on secure chip technology.
Takaya Osaki, Senior Engineer at TÜV SÜD Japan, comments: “As an established laboratory we have been offering secure chip testing services for a number of years both to international and Japanese customers, so we see membership of GlobalPlatform and participation in its compliance program as a logical next step. Global interoperability is key to the sustainable future of the secure chip ecosystem and we look forward to going through the process to become a GlobalPlatform-qualified laboratory.”
Kevin Gillick, Executive Director of GlobalPlatform, adds: “GlobalPlatform test laboratories and tools are essential to promote market stability through widespread compliance and interoperability. The continued interest from international test laboratories is a testament to the benefits of the GlobalPlatform Compliance Program and it is great to see new members commit resources to drive this activity forward. We look forward TÜV SÜD Japan’s contribution to our current work priorities and our compliance activity.”
